TRAVERSE MTB is more than just 5 days of racing; it’s a truly all-inclusive adventure. Experience extraordinary hospitality for 8 days and 7 nights in Tanzania, 31 May - 7 June. From the moment you exit the airport until you enjoy your last beer and are delivered to departures for your return flight, you will find we really have thought of — and provided — everything.

Race categories are solo (male and female) and 2-person team (male, female, mixed).

In order to ensure a premier experience, the 2025 field will be limited to 70 registered cyclists. Registration will close when sold out or on 31st March.

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

  • Accommodation for 7 nights

    • Basic tent with ground mattress

  • 5 days of racing + bike wash

  • Transfers from Kilimanjaro Airport & return + all transport during race

  • 3 meals per day + race course feed zones

  • Water, hydration formula, coffee, tea, soda, beer, and wine

  • Park fees, concessions, levies, and taxes

  • Medical services & emergency evacuation

PRICING

  • Entry /USD $2590 per rider

    • Solo accommodation add $500

  • Spectator packages (more info will be included in race guide)

    • Accompanying a cyclist /USD $2490

    • Simba Farm package /USD $1990

Tell your friends and family about TRAVERSE MTB and earn rewards when they register for the event. Here's how it works:

  1. Sign up for your event and receive a personalized referral link in your confirmation email.

  2. Share the link with your network, and challenge your friends to join you at TRAVERSE Tanzania 2025.

  3. If your friends use your link to register, you get credit!

  4. TRAVERSE MTBers earn $100 for every friend you refer — up to the price of your own entry.

ACCOMMODATION ADD-ONS:

  • Solo accommodation / USD $500 per person

  • VIP tent / USD $320 per person

    • Walk-in tent with sleeping cot, mattress, pillow, sheet and duvet + floor mat and chairs at entrance

  • Sleeping bag rental / USD $50 per person

  • Pre- and post-race hotel accommodation / starting at USD $60 per person

SERVICE ADD-ONS:

Mechanic services

  • Basic package / USD $150pp

    • Post-stage service each day (degrease drive train + lube, index gears, check chain, brake pads, bearings, sealant levels, headset, BB, hubs, & bolts, and lubrication)

    • Additional charge for large jobs

  • Full package / USD $280pp

    • Basic package + assistance building bike pre-race & packing bike post-race

    • No additional labour charge for large jobs

Massage services

  • Full package / USD $300pp

    • 6 x 30-minute massages: day before prologue & each day post-stage

    • First options in reservation / booking system

  • A la carte massage / USD $70 per 30-minute massage

    • Reservations made post-stage only — slots not guaranteed

REFUNDS, CHANGES & DEFERRALS

  • Entry is confirmed upon full payment only. Refunds for cancellations — for race entry and/or add-on packages — will be available as follows:

    • 90% refund available through 22 December

    • 75% refund available through 22 March

    • 50% refund available through 22 April

    • 25% refund available through 22 May

    • Payments are non-refundable beginning 23 May 2025

  • Entries can be deferred for one year if requested before 22 March. The deferral fee is USD $200 per rider, payable upon request.

  • Rider changes / number transfers are permitted if requested before 22 April for a USD $200 change fee, payable upon request.

  • If the event, or any part of it, is for any reason modified or cancelled, payments will be refundable as per above.
