CLIMATE ACTION
We work hard to reduce the carbon footprints of our races and negative impacts on the environment. In addition to limiting plastics, reusing and recycling what we can, and purchasing and employing locally, we use high-quality certified carbon credits to compensate for all emissions generated during TRAVERSE, as well as for all staff travel to and from.
Carbon Tanzania makes it possible for us to do this locally.
We also invite participants to purchase certified offsets to compensate for their own travel to Tanzania. Offsets are available as add-ons at registration, based on your country of origin.
CARBON TANZANIA
Carbon Tanzania creates economic value in natural resources for indigenous people through the sustainable management of forests and biodiversity.
CT generates forest-based carbon credits that enable Tanzania’s indigenous resource-owners to earn revenues from the protection of their natural resources. These verified emissions reductions allow businesses and individuals to invest in a nature-based solution that serves the climate, indigenous communities, wildlife, and contributes to delivering Sustainable Development Goals.
